Past Experience:
 

He worked as Consultant Pulmonologist and Interventional Pulmonologist at Yashoda Hospital, Malakpet, Hyderabad for two years.Prior to that he worked in several Multi speciality hospitals like Vizag Chest Institute, Seven Hills hospital, Queens NRI Hospital and Indus Hospital, Visakhapatnam.He worked with proficiency and mastered management of simple and complex respiratory diseases.

He actively took part in presentations of Research papers in several National and State Conferences.He was a Speaker  in various CMEs & Conferences and conducted work shops. He worked as course director of IP.

He is a highly successful and dedicated pulmonologist with rich experience as chest physician. He is also well appreciated for his compassionate approach to patients and his good communication skills. His special interests are in Asthma, COPD , Sleep medicine, Interstitial Lung Diseases (Pulmonary Fibrosis) and Interventional Pulmonology (IP).

Good to know information

Asthma

When exposed to certain allergens like dust, fumes, pollen, cold climate, certain foods and medicines, the air passages will narrow causing difficulty in breathing, wheeze(musical sounds in chest), cough, tightening of chest which is called asthma. With appropriate medicines asthma can be well controlled.

COPD(Chronic bronchitis or emphysema):

It is a disease which causes obstruction of air passages in the lungs. It usually develops in smokers aged 40 and above. It causes progressive damage to lungs and patient generally comes with repeated symptoms of cough, phlegm, breathing difficulty and may end up with chronic lung failure and heart failure. Early diagnosis is very necessary by lung function tests. 

TB (Tuberculosis)

TB is a common disease which spreads from person to person and it can involve lungs commonly but can involve any organ in the body. If not diagnosed early and treated it will cause extensive damage to lungs and at times may cause Drug Resistant TB which is difficult to treat.

Smoking cessation:

Giving up the habit of smoking is called smoking cessation. Smoking cigarette or bidi or hookah etc causes serious diseases like lung cancer and COPD. To overcome the habit a chest physician should be consulted who helps with counselling and certain therapies.

Interstitial Lung Decease (ILD) or Pulmonary fibrosis:

It is a group of diseases which causes scarring of the lung. It can occur without any cause or in conditions like Rheumatoid arthritis or exposure to pigeons or parrots etc.

Lung Cancer:

It grows like a tumour in the lungs in smokers and sometimes in non smokers. Patient has symptoms like coughing out blood (haemoptysis), chest pain and breathing difficulty. Early diagnosis by means of X ray, CT Scan and Bronchoscopy and detection of cancer in early stages is important for cure of the disease. Now a days advanced therapies are available which prolong the life span.

Sleep Disorders:

Changes in the sleeping patter or habits of the sleep will cause sleep disorders. Patients will have snoring during sleep with frequent stopping of breathing which is called OSA (Obstructive Sleep Apnea) especially in obese individuals. They have too much of day time sleepiness leading to problems of heart, high blood pressure, lung failure etc.It is treated with CPAP after conducting a sleep study
